6 Oct 02 (1.5 Hours)

Finished off welding the seat back panel. Had problems holding this panel in place, holding the welding mask and trying to weld at the same time.

24 Oct 02 (2 Hours)

Using every clamp, and mole grip I had, I managed to hold the seat back panel (shown vertical on the pictures below) in place long enough to tack weld in place.

Also welded parts N1, N2 and Q and P in place.

26 Oct 02 (1.5 Hours)

Welded the bottom of the rear luggage area (RU1, RU2, Y, V & Z) and attached it to the back of the main chassis. Had to move the chassis forward in the garage. Space is a little tight and I may need to tidy up!

Also welded the R, S & T at the front. Almost finished tack welding all of the 25mm square tubes. I now need to cut the 19mm square tubes.

28 Oct 02 (1.5 Hours)

Welded R, S & T, the front diagonal cross members.

Also welded together RU1, RU2, Y and V, attached this to B1 at the back of the chassis and welded in e, f and Z. (This makes a convenient trap to catch small children!)

Checked the width of the vertical tubes e and f. I only welded them 2" from the centre line, and this this is incorrect. See picture below and Transmission Tunnel widths- at Locostbuilders.

By the end of the 28/10/02 the car looked like the picture on the left below. I also got my new car today shown on the right.
